Reports to: Senior Examinations Officer – Agricultural Sciences

Department: Technical, Agricultural and Biological Sciences

Job Purpose

To implement assessment processes in Crop Sciences fields.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Participate and implement approved processes and procedures in development,
moderation, typing and proofreading of test items in the Crop Sciences fields and
ensure they are conducted in line with rules and regulations;

2. Implement the approved assessment syllabi, tools, manuals and guidelines in the
Crop Sciences fields;

3. Participate in verification of continuous assessment marks/results candidates in
Crop Sciences fields;

4. Gather all the necessary information and data in preparation and development of
unit work plans, budgets and activity progress reports;

5. Collect and critically analyse data for development of polices, manuals, standards,
for the Crop Sciences fields;

6. Provide all technical input in the process of registration of candidates (verification
and enrolment), examination time-tables and circulars in the Crop Sciences fields;

7. Participate in all approved activities of the department including marking exercise,
supervision of examinations, inspection and monitoring of real life projects and
industrial training for candidates in Crop Sciences fields;

8. Collect accurate data on institutions for accreditation as examination centres for
Crop Sciences fields;

9. Implement approved set standards and guidelines in execution of assessment
processes;

10.Collect all the data for he verification of continuous assessment marks/results
candidates in Crop Sciences fields;

11.Verify entry forms/candidates’ registration data, compute assessment fees and
register candidates for Crop Sciences fields;

12.Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Working Experience

a) An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Agribusiness or Agricultural Land
Use & Management or Vocational Studies in Agriculture from a recognised
institution,

b) A Diploma in Agriculture or Crop production or Agroforestry from a recognised
institution;

c) Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in employment in Agriculture, Teaching in
Agricultural Training Institutions or handling agriculture examinations in a national
examinations / assessment body;

d) A teaching qualification is an added advantage;

e) 25 – 40 years of age at entry.
