dfcu Bank is a fast-growing Bank in Uganda offering a wide range of financial solutions to its chosen market segments. We are seeking to recruit a Lead Systems Architect in the Change and Innovation (CCIO) domain. Details are as below:

REPORTING TO: Head- Product Development and Innovation

JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Head, Product Development and Innovation, the role holder will be responsible for coordinating the development, review, continuous upgrade, and implementation of the IT Enterprise architecture framework that supports the bank to realize its strategic objectives.

LOCATION: Kampala

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Design thinking and analyzing the current IT environment to identify deficiencies and suggest enhancement solutions based on leading industry Enterprise standards.
  • Coordinate design and document key system components, interfaces, infrastructure, and communications focusing on standards and technologies that enable systems performance qualities, such as availability, security, scalability & recoverability.
  • Coordinate design of a coherent long-term IT Enterprise architecture in line with commercial frameworks, standards, and the bank’s IT policy.
  • Continuous review, upgrade, and enhancement of the Enterprise architecture in line with the bank, IT, and business requirement.
  • Update Business Information Plans, Product Development plans, together with the Business Technology department.
  • Support the translation of the Business Information Plans and Coordinate the Release and Life cycle management Process for innovations.
  • Monitor and review agreed targets in relation to costs, quality, and risks all the while keeping abreast with emerging technology.
  • Optimize the Banks Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and related Systems and infrastructures.
  • Ensure that Customizations, developments & Change requests do not lead to security Threats that would affect the revenue bottom line immensely.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • A University degree in Computer Science, IT, Informtion Systems, Engineering or other numerical biased degree.
  • A Masters or postgraduate qualification is a value add.
  • Adept at Financial Technology or Banking products.
  • Trained in use of the current core Banking system is an advantage.
  • Certification in Project Management e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, etc. is an advantage.
  • Expert Knowledge of methods and techniques such as Tap Scott, DYA, TOGAF, COBIT.
  • 7 years experience and at least 4+ years broad experience in design, development and implementation of information systems and communication systems.
  • Strong technological skills in Server hardware, Cloud Infrastructure, Storage (NetApp), Operating systems (Windows & LINUX), Security & Network infrastructure.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and coordination skills.
  • Strong business and analytical skills including direct interaction with customers.
  • Knowledge of product design and product lifecycle management.
  • High proficiency in Information Systems and in research design tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, supervise and transfer knowledge to teams.
  • Excellent communications and engagement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and personal effectiveness.
  • High-level of integrity, work ethic and strong entrepreneurial skills.
  • Self-drive and initiative.
  • Strong leader with soft-power skills.
