Reporting to: Director Policy and Business Development.
Contract Duration: Three years’ renewable contract upon satisfactory performance.
a) Scope of work for the Sector Coordinator
Under the supervision of the Director Private Sector Development Sector coordinator will.
1. Conduct extensive research activities, in-depth study and analysis of information, reports, interviews and consultations to inform policy direction for the sector.
2. Be the main contact point for the sector and link to PSFU secretariat.
3. Coordinate activities which ensure policy issues/ concerns affecting the sector are collated, processed and dialogued with respective public body.
4. Coordinate activities that increase productivity, efficiency, profitability and growth of members through business development services, business linkages and synergies.
5. Develop project proposals to mobilize resources that serve the interests of the members in the sectors.
6. Coordinate activities relating to member satisfaction through member needs assessment.
7. Support the membership department in conducting membership related activities such as recruitment of members, debt collection and organizing the Annual General Meeting.
8. Ensure the mainstreaming of the cross cutting issues (gender, environment, youth, and other SDGs) in the production and placement of products and services to the market.
9. Supervise sector officer(s) in the conduction of their work to support the sector.
10. Conduct any other activities as will be assigned to by the Director Policy and Business Development.
b) Capabilities Sought for this Position.
1. Demonstrated motivation to carry out the above scope of work.
2. At least four (4) years in conducting research to inform policy and business development.
3. Three (3) years’ experience working with business member organizations in field of policy advocacy, business development or membership is an added advantage
4. Demonstrated knowledge of policy analysis, planning and advocacy.
5. Experience in leading teams, project management and coordination of activities.
6. Minimum of a Masters degree in the field of Economics, Statistics, Oil and Gas, Business Management, International Trade, Public Relations/Communications, Law, or any other relevant field.
7. Professional certification in any other field is an added advantage.
