Position: Social Workers
Reporting to: Project Coordinator as overall supervisor and clinical supervisor to Clinical Psychologist
Location: Yumbe, Adjumani, Arua, Moyo, Lamwo, Amuru, Nwoya, Kaabong, Amudat, Moroto, Nakapiripit,   Kasese, Buliisa, Hoima, BidiBidi, Rhino, Imvepi, Kiryandongo Lobule, Nakivale, Rwamwanja, Oruchinga, Kayaka II, Kyangwali (60 persons)

 

Job Purpose

To ensure delivery of services that aim at empowering communities to reduce social strife and contribute to sustainable development of identified groups, individuals, and families.

Responsibilities Related to project implementation

ü  Support Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Groups, conduct problem management plus and Psychological First Aid; conducting screening of trauma and depression symptoms, case management, manage individual and family cases including home visits. to ensure their improved social functioning and psychosocial wellbeing.

ü  Working closely with diverse existing and/or new community peacebuilding structures to identify, prioritize, analyze, and resolve and monitor interlinked local conflict issues.

ü  Supporting formal and informal authorities responsible for building peace, supporting security and justice actors at the local and district to consult widely with communities on identified conflict issues and incorporate community concerns into their related responses.

ü  Conduct mental health awareness and MHPSS referrals:

ü  Support Psychotherapy and appropriate case management to conflict and GBV survivors in need of MHPSS; and basic
livelihoods support.

ü  Support conflict and GBV survivors to cope and improve their livelihoods

ü  Facilitate talking circles between refugees and host communities on peaceful co-existence and support community
action groups (CAGs) in the implementation of action points arising from the talking circles.

ü  Support civil society platforms and/or organizations at the regional level (new or existing) on conflict and gender sensitivity and basic psychosocial support:

ü  Train selected service providers on psychosocial support and referral pathways, and monitor support provided:

ü  Participate in district, regional and national peace building, governance and mental health and psychosocial support related forums.

Person Specifications:

Degree in Social Work and Social administration (SWASA) and other related Social Work courses. Candidates with qualifications on Community psychology, peace building and conflict resolution skills can apply. Additional trainings is an added advantage. Must have at least 2-3 years’ experience working in NGO environment. Ability to ride a motorcycle with valid riding permit.
