Background:

USAID/Uganda Biodiversity for Resilience (B4R) Activity is a five-year Program (2020-2025) whose aim is to assist communities, the Government of Uganda (GOU), and the private sector to conserve and manage biodiversity in target ecosystems for lasting environmental and economic sustainability and for increased community and household resilience.  The Activity is implemented by RTI in a consortium with AWF, CTPH and Viamo in the following four target landscapes: Kidepo, Murchison, Lake Mburo (Rurambira) and Budongo. The project now seeks to undertake a baseline survey data collection in Got-Apwoyo Sub County in Nwoya District, which forms the Murchison conservancy area and has been selected as one of the areas to be covered in the baseline survey. As such, applications are invited from qualified candidates who wish to work as enumerators in the baseline data collection in the Murchison conservancy area.

Duration: April 19- 21

Purpose & Justification:

Enumerators will participate in the baseline survey data collection to benchmark indicator value for the economic benefits indicator. The survey aims to generate empirical data on baseline performance value of the indicator at the start of the Activity, which will act as reference point for assessing indicator performance value and impact of activity implementation over time, on an annual basis and at the end of the Activity.

Planned Activities:

The baseline survey activity will entail primary data collection which will be done by locally recruited enumerators from the survey target landscape areas. The enumerators will be trained and the survey instrument pre-tested before deploying to the field for the actual data collection.

Roles and Responsibilities of each Enumerator:

  • Participate in training session on survey instrument and mobile data collection
  • Take part in pre-test of survey instrument
  • Undertake data collection using mobile tablets
  • Submit completed daily questionnaires to B4R M&E survey lead in the field.
  • Observe COVID-19 SOPs at all times, during training and at data collection. Each enumerator will be required to sign RTI’s COVID-19 Health pledge form, affirming their commitment to observing COVID-19 SOPs

Qualification

Possession of a diploma or higher. Prior experience in conducting surveys using mobile tablets is an advantage. Fluency in English and the locality language is a requirement.
