About TMF: Trailblazers Mentoring Foundation (TMF) is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in Uganda founded by two former child mothers who turned their negative experiences into a positive action. TMF programs draw lessons from real life experiences to challenge and inspire adolescent girls and young women to embrace responsibility for their education, health and development of their community. The Organization’s mandate is to provide holistic programs that address critical needs of adolescents especially girls and young women while putting greater emphasis on ending teenage pregnancy, child marriages and empowering girls and young women to complete school and rise to their full potential.
Project Overview.
• GEG project will run for 4 years in Kampala specifically in 21 KCCA schools. Our target participants are the vulnerable adolescent girls who are currently participating in mentorship, this project focuses on ensuring that all girls transition safely into adult hood, receive education and training and are empowered to achieve their goals. It does so by supporting in school girls living in Kampala, proving avenues to Empower girls through the existing peer mentors, engaging them through education, training and referrals to support, services and enabling them to pursue a better opportunity for their future through a small cash transfer. This is the first social protection programme in Uganda directly targeting the children.
Job Overview
• The peer mentor of the Girls empowering girls (GEG) programmes is responsible for the day-to-day planning, Mentoring, and monitoring of activities under GEG specifically focusing of ensuring all adolescent girls are being mentored and supported through referral to services and any available fora. The Peer mentors, school administrators, parents and service providers to ensure coordination and integrated support to adolescent girls.
Duties and Responsibilities Project Implementation and sustainability.
• Building a relationship of stability and trust with appointed Mentees;
• Providing one-on-one mentoring to Mentees;
• Facilitating group mentor sessions;
• Connecting digitally with Mentees, fellow Peer Mentors and their Lead Mentor;
• Supporting fellow Peer Mentors;
• Monitoring and reporting on the progress of Mentees as per the guidelines and submit the
• Peer Mentor tracking sheet every month to the Lead Mentor during the Lead-to-Peer
• Mentor sessions;
• Participating in the Lead-to-Peer Mentor sessions;
• Referring girls to essential services (health, education, protection) and support girls with
• the uptake of these services;
• Supporting programme monitoring efforts by submitting the Peer Mentor trackers monthly;
• Asking Mentees frequently if they feel comfortable with the appointed caregivers and are receiving their cash transfers.

• Supporting the Lead Mentors with conducting the quarterly sessions for caregivers, community members, teachers and boys.
• Supporting programme mobilisation, sensitisation, identification registration and enrolment activities.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• A university graduate preferably in social works or higher level of education and below 30 years of Age.
• At least one year’ experience working with vulnerable communities and adolescent girls.
• Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent computer skills.
• Track record demonstrating high integrity, innovativeness, creativity, reliability and dependable
• Team player, Self-motivator, able to work with limited supervision.
• Proactive personality, self-driven and strongly motivated.
• Demonstration of well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
