Program Overview
The Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) has created this structured mentorship program to foster the next generation of researchers and practitioners in gender-based violence prevention and response . The program introduces an innovative pre-abstract mentorship phase, allowing selected participants to receive professional feedback and guidance at early stages of their research development.
Key Benefits
- Mentorship: Selected participants will be paired with experienced mentors from the SVRI Leadership Council or wider network.
- Abstract Development: Receive tailored guidance on shaping and strengthening their “pre-abstract” and formal abstract for SVRI Forum 2026, including framing, methodology, analysis, and recommendations.
- Presentation Preparation: Ongoing mentoring to prepare for their presentation if accepted.
- Bursary: All participants in the program will receive a bursary to attend SVRI Forum 2026 in Bangkok, regardless of whether their abstract is accepted for presentation.
- Networking: Build connections with mentors, peers, and stakeholders across sectors and geographies.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the program, applicants must:
- Be 35 years of age or younger (born in 1990 or later).
- Be working in an area linked to a SVRI Forum 2026 theme (related to violence against women, violence against children, and intersecting forms of gender-based violence).
- Be committed to submitting an abstract to SVRI Forum 2026.
- Have not previously received support through the YPP.
