Are you a young adult ready to influence the future of education and workforce development? Jobs for the Future (JFF), a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to economic advancement and quality job access, has opened applications for two transformative youth leadership programs that could reshape your career trajectory while making a meaningful impact on your peers nationwide.

JFF is recruiting passionate young leaders aged 18-24 for two interconnected programs running from September 2025 through June 2026:

1.Youth Advisory Council (YAC)

The Youth Advisory Council represents the frontline of youth advocacy, bringing authentic perspectives to policy discussions and program development. As a council member, you’ll bridge the gap between youth experiences and institutional decision-making.

What You’ll Do:

  • Share your lived experiences to inform education and career pathway improvements
  • Provide direct feedback on youth engagement strategies
  • Learn about local and national career navigation policies
  • Gain insider access to nonprofit operations and strategy

Time Commitment:

  • One monthly virtual meeting (1 hour)
  • Up to 4 hours of independent activities monthly
  • Three professional development workshops (60-90 minutes each)

Compensation: $1,250 stipend

2.Youth Research Fellows (YRF)

For those seeking intensive research experience, the Youth Research Fellows program offers advanced training in methodology, data analysis, and policy influence. Fellows simultaneously serve on the Advisory Council while developing professional research skills.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Research methodology training from JFF professionals
  • Hands-on experience in data collection and analysis
  • Mentorship from seasoned researchers
  • Direct influence on organizational strategy and policy
  • Dual participation in both YAC and YRF activities

Enhanced Commitment:

  • Monthly YAC and YRF meetings (up to 2 hours combined)
  • Up to 8 hours monthly on research projects
  • Three virtual professional development workshops

Compensation: $2,500 stipend (includes YAC participation)

Who Should Apply?

Basic Requirements:

  • Ages 18-24
  • U.S. residents
  • English communication proficiency
  • Access to virtual meeting platforms

Additional Requirements for YRF:

  • Currently enrolled in 2- or 4-year U.S. college
  • Sophomore standing or higher
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Reliable computer and internet access
