The African School of Governance Foundation (ASGF) is inviting dynamic, qualified, and purpose-driven professionals to join its growing team. As part of its organizational expansion, ASGF is recruiting for eight key positions. Each role presents an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a mission-driven environment and shape the future of governance in Africa.
Open Positions and Key Requirements
1. Accountant
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in financial management or accounting
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
- High attention to detail and analytical skills
2. Executive Secretary
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: The Executive Secretary will provide high-level administrative support to senior executives, manage schedules, handle confidential documents, and coordinate meetings and communication.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Business, or relevant field
- At least 3 years of experience supporting senior management or executives
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong multitasking abilities
3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: The MEL Officer will oversee performance tracking, impact evaluation, and data-driven reporting for ASGF’s programs. This includes designing MEL frameworks and ensuring timely learning for program improvements.
Key Requirements:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of MEL experience in the development or governance sector
- Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis
- Familiarity with MEL software and tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, DevResults)
4. Program Manager
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: The Program Manager will lead the design, implementation, and strategic oversight of ASGF programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and stakeholder engagement.
Key Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Public Policy, International Development, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of program management experience
- Proven leadership, budgeting, and reporting skills
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-stakeholder environments and donor-funded projects
5. Administration Officer
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: The Administration Officer will manage day-to-day administrative operations, including procurement, logistics, records management, and facilities coordination.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Management, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in office administration
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple administrative systems efficiently
6. Finance and Administration Manager
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: This senior role will lead financial planning, compliance, budget oversight, and administrative functions of the Foundation. The incumbent will support executive leadership in strategic financial decisions.
Key Requirements:

- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in finance and administration, preferably in the NGO sector

- Strong leadership, audit, and financial reporting capabilities
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional qualification preferred
7. Partnerships and Legal Manager
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: This position is responsible for cultivating and managing institutional partnerships, donor relations, and legal compliance for the Foundation’s operations and programs.
Key Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Law, International Relations, Public Administration, or similar
- At least 5 years’ experience in legal advisory or partnership development roles
- Strong legal drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- In-depth understanding of nonprofit law, contracts, and policy frameworks
8. Program Officer
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Role Overview: Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Officer will assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring program activities and engagements across various thematic areas.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Development, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in program delivery or research
- Strong organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of governance issues and policy environments in Africa
