About the Internship
The United Nations Global Compact Office (UNGCO) manages the UN Global Compact initiative, overseeing its principles, integrity measures, partnerships, and outreach.
Interns will contribute to advancing the UN Global Compact’s two main objectives:

Embedding Global Compact principles into business strategies worldwide.

Facilitating multi-stakeholder cooperation in support of UN goals.
Internships are UNPAID. Interns work 35 hours/week (full-time) under the supervision of a UNGCO Programme Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities
Interns will:
-
Conduct research on corporate sustainability topics.
-
Draft and edit publications, reports, and documents.
-
Liaise with stakeholders on sustainability initiatives.
-
Support the organization of meetings and events.
-
Assist with outreach and communication efforts.
-
Handle inquiries and correspondence.
-
Provide general administrative support as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
-
Enrolled in or completed a graduate programme (Master’s or higher).
-
Enrolled in or completed the final year of a Bachelor’s degree.
Other requirements:
-
Strong computer literacy (Excel and standard applications).
-
Demonstrated interest in UN work and values of the UN Charter.
-
Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
-
Educational background in political science, history, international relations, corporate sustainability, law, public administration, or related fields is desirable.
-
Note: Prior work experience is not required.
Language Requirements
-
English: Fluency required.
-
French: Advantageous (working language of the UN Secretariat).
-
For US-based internships, non-US citizens must obtain a G4 visa (or have CPT/OPT/J1 status).
-
Interns are responsible for securing visas and work authorization.
