The Youth Engagement Coordinator is a key role in this ecosystem. It’s a hands-on position focused on building and nurturing RIVET’s global community of young changemakers. The coordinator acts as a bridge between the organization and its youth community, ensuring that the voices of young people are at the forefront of RIVET’s strategy and programs.
Key Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the role revolve around community engagement, program coordination, and communication.
- Community Building: Foster and maintain authentic relationships with young changemakers from diverse backgrounds and regions. This includes serving as a point of contact for community members to ensure they feel supported and engaged.
- Program Coordination: Assist with the logistical planning and execution of key programs, such as grant cycles, workshops, and training sessions. This also involves managing high-touch engagement experiences like “Brain Trusts,” “Pitch Practices,” and community calls.
- Facilitation and Communication: Actively facilitate both in-person and online interactions, particularly within RIVET’s digital spaces like Discord. The coordinator also contributes to communications with youth grantees and collaborates with the storytelling team to highlight impactful stories.
- Data and Systems Management: Maintain up-to-date records of community data and program activities, and participate in internal team meetings to ensure youth contributions are integrated across all programs.
Candidate Profile and Compensation
The ideal candidate is someone who is deeply passionate about youth leadership and social justice, and thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. They should be a natural at convening and facilitating, with strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
