Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Content Creator, you’ll be at the heart of Island Innovation’s digital presence. You’ll work closely with the Content & Communications Manager to turn strategy into compelling written and visual content. Your daily tasks will include:

• Writing and Editing: Crafting on-brand copy for emails, social media, and the weekly newsletter with a focus on tone and clarity.
• Visual Creation: Producing engaging social media content, including Instagram carousels, LinkedIn posts, and short-form videos. You’ll be using tools like Canva and editing long-form recordings into shareable clips with tools like Opus Clip.
• AI Integration: Using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini to generate ideas and drafts, but with the critical skill of refining these outputs to deliver a human, high-quality, and authentic voice.
• On-Camera Presence: Getting comfortable in front of the camera to create self-recorded videos that introduce campaigns and represent the brand in a casual, professional manner.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a remote setting and possesses a blend of creative and technical skills. You should have:

• Excellent Writing Skills: A strong command of English with a keen eye for tone and detail.
• AI and Digital Media Proficiency: Experience using AI tools for content creation and a solid understanding of platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
• Visual Content Skills: Basic proficiency with design and video editing tools such as Canva and Opus Clip.
• On-Camera Confidence: The willingness and comfort to appear in videos as the face of the brand.
• A Passion for the Mission: An interest in sustainability, climate justice, or innovation is a must, as it will help you create truly authentic content.

Bonus skills that would set you apart include proficiency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese, experience with stakeholder interviews, or basic motion design and animation skills.
