Core Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities

The internship offers a comprehensive experience across four key areas:

1.Research & Analysis Excellence

Interns will dive deep into youth participation in peacebuilding and humanitarian contexts, conducting meaningful research that informs policy and practice. This includes compiling reports on national and regional youth peace and security policies, analyzing lessons learned from successful initiatives, and preparing briefing notes that influence decision-making processes.

2.Project Implementation Support

Working directly on regional Youth Peace and Security projects, interns will assist in planning and coordination while supporting youth engagement in conflict resolution, peace processes, and mediation efforts. This hands-on experience includes helping design youth-led initiatives, facilitating training sessions, and contributing to program monitoring and evaluation.

3.Strategic Communications & Advocacy

The role encompasses creating impactful content including social media posts, newsletters, and blog articles that amplify youth voices in peace and security discussions. Interns will develop advocacy materials for campaigns and support both virtual and in-person events such as webinars and workshops.

4.Partnership Building & Coordination

Building relationships with youth networks and civil society stakeholders forms a crucial part of the experience. Interns will document best practices, participate in inter-agency meetings, and support the development of national-level Youth Peace and Security frameworks.

Who Should Apply
