To undertake all the finance support for the department and ensure that all accountancy processes and controls are followed by all UPMB Staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare monthly books of accounts, payroll and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in line with financial guidelines
- Classify and assign budget codes, calculate and compile cost estimates and projected budget requirements and assist in budget preparation and revision
- Assist to plan, prepare, co-ordinate and implement all external audit activities
- Track budget allocation against obligations
- Monitor Donor accounts and provide detailed monthly accountability
- Verify the accuracy of calculations and completeness of accounting records and
- Assist to plan, prepare, co-ordinate and implement all external audit activities
- Verify all monthly books of accounts, bank reconciliation requisitions and requisitions for payments invoices donor accountabilities and quarterly financial statements in accordance with financial and project guidelines.
- Provide guidance to the Accounts team
- Conduct surprise petty cash reviews and audit
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Professional qualification in ACCA or CPA
- A Bachelor’s Degree of Commerce or Business Administration majoring in accounting
- At least five years of experience in a similar position in an NGO, and with complex donor funded programs/projects.
- Excellent knowledge and familiarity with Navision accounting software
- Good analytical with an eye to detail
- Honest and a high degree of integrity,
- A team player with good Communication and people skills
- Mature and upholds to the values of the Protestant churches
- Excellent financial reporting skills.
