JOB SUMMARY

The Accountant is responsible for providing financial and accounting services to Kiira Motors Corporation.

Reports to:                   Senior Accountant

Salary Scale:                K6 (3)

Key Functions

  • Prepare a complete set of financial statements to comprise a statement of financial position, a statement of profit or loss and other comprehensive income, a statement of changes in equity and a statement of cash flows;
  • Substantiate transactions by auditing and examining financial and accounting documents and Recommend actions by analyzing accounting options;
  • Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements;
  • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures;
  • Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions;
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
  • Secure financial information by maintaining accurate database backups;
  • Maintain financial and accounting information security by following internal controls;
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting standards, policies and regulations;
  • Comply financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions;
  • Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends;
  • Maintain customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential;
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies;
  • Prepare Monthly Work Plans and Performance Reports necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities; and
  • Any other duties assigned by the Senior Accountant

Person Specifications:

Minimum Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Studies, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering or related field from a recognized Institution; and
  • At least Level II of the Certified Public Accountants Course.

Minimum Experience

General Working Experience of at Least (5) Years; Should have Served as an Accountant or Equivalent for at least Three (3) Years in a Reputable Organization preferably in the Automotive/Manufacturing Industry.

INTERVIEWS

Shortlisted candidates shall sit a Competence and Aptitude Test. All candidates who pass the Competence and Aptitude Test shall proceed to the next stage which shall be the Oral Interview. Candidates shall be informed of the date and time of the Tests/Interviews two (2) working days in advance.
