Background

The Support Skilling Uganda (SSU) project is funded by Belgium, Ireland, and the European Union Trust Fund and implemented through cooperation between Enabel and Ministry of Education and Sports.

The SSU project focuses on supporting the implementation of  “Skilling Uganda” reform process aimed at making skills development more demand driven by linking Business, Technical Vocational Education, and Training (BTVET) with the world of work.

It is in this context that the SSU project facilitates interaction between all relevant stakeholders: local government, organisations providing and financing technical training, the private sector and Business Technical, Vocational and Education Training (BTVET) institution.

To this end, Enabel in Uganda is currently looking for competent, vibrant, and dynamic individual to fill the position of Administrative Assistant for the Support to Skilling Uganda in Arua and similar upcoming position foreseen in the new country portfolio in Fort Portal.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • You will carry out various administrative tasks such as drafting letters, managing the office front desk, receiving visitors, and managing all official communication to guarantee efficient support to the respective projects.
  • You will organize both internal and external meetings by coordinating all the related logistics to ensure the smooth and successful occurrence of the meetings.
  • You will manage office supplies to ensure that they are readily available when needed and are efficiently used.
  • You will be the document manager ensuring all relevant project correspondences and documents are properly filed for easy retrieval.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Administration, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of practical experience in Administration or Project Administration in a busy and reputable organization.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Very good communication skills
  • Proven ability to exercise a high level of integrity in handling the organisation’s financial and physical resources.
  • Proven ability to work within a big team and remain focused on achieving the project’s objectives.
  • Ability to work and easily adapt in a multisectoral and multicultural environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, outlook, word, PowerPoint) and internet.

We offer you

  • A contract of 27 months working with SSU- EUTF project or you are included in the recruitment reserve for a period of 3 years.
  • A salary package that comprises the monthly gross salary between UGX 2,400,000 and UGX 2,500,000 which is commensurate with experience and in accordance with our salary scales, medical insurance and a 13th month package paid in December.
