JoB Summary- Agribusiness’/Livelihood Officer at ADRA Nchwanga Agribusiness and Livelihood enchantment Center will be responsible for the day today coordination of the activities at the Agribusiness and livelihood enactment center, mobilizing the community-based groups around the center and networking with the local government, private sector, traders and other relevant stakeholders. He/she will extend technical training, guidance to the community CBOs, community resource persons, and other trainees at the Center. He/she will provide continuous training on financial literacy, small scale and large-scale profitable agribusiness enterprises and overall knowledge and techniques in managing commercial crop and animal husbandry projects

 Qualifications – Agribusiness/Livelihood Coordinator

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma or Certificate in Agricultural Sciences, Agri-Business or an equivalent field a certificate in finance or Microcredit is an added advantage

Experience-

  • Five or more years of direct people management
  • Five years of experience working with and capacity building of rural communities in agribusiness enterprises
  • Five years of experience with a proven track record of managing, mentoring, coaching, and developing high performing teams
  • Good coordination and Networking skills
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Experience in Microfinance and financial literacy is an added advantage
  • Bilingualism both spoken and written (French and English) an asset

Summary of Agribusiness/Livelihood Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the project is executed according to the project goal and objectives
  • Mobilize, select and enhance the capacity of community CBOs
  • Develop an agribusiness plan for the Center
  • Identify profitable and sustainable Agri business opportunities
  • Ensure Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to analyze data and make fact-based business recommendations and manage/problem solve within a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with multiple priorities
  • Provide advanced operational support to selected community-based groups
  • Develop and maintain project management schedules, project work plans, and other general project management resources.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant record-keeping and administration performance.
  • Provide general project management reporting to at Head office.
  • Liaise and coordinate support services from private business partners as appropriate.
  • Liaise with technical specialists in the coordination of technical development and support to the CBOs and Nchwanga livelihood enhancement center
  • Eengage with Head officer/project Desk officer in the definition and execution of project activities and development of plans and schedules.
  • Collaborate with Head office and relevant stakeholders to identify and manage risks.
  • Monitor and lead correction process to ensure project documentation, deliverables and data are maintained consistently in accordance with policies and standards.
