1. Job Title: Communication & Knowledge Management Officer
2. Reporting to: Head of Programmes
3. Main Purpose of the Job
The Communication and Knowledge Management Officer position is key in the results
management component of UNNGOF. S/he will implement and enhance the current system of gathering, interpreting and managing multiple forms of information and resources necessary for learning, along with managing knowledge generated and necessary for visibility and branding of UNNGOF work.

S/he will work as part of the team to develop and implement communication strategies that will further UNNGOF’s goals; capture, distribute and effectively use knowledge both internally and externally.
4. Duties and Responsibilities
a. Responsible for UNNGOF’s communication strategy planning, implementation and
providing an overall framework for priorities in use of websites, databases, social and
traditional media;
b. Support the development and promotion of organizational publicity materials including
message development, social media content management and media outreach;
c. Contribute to identifying key accomplishments, learning opportunities, and findings to
highlight through communications channels and products to increase the accessibility and
utilization of project information;
d. Develop annual work plans and budgets for Communication & Knowledge Management and ensure delivery of set targets;
e. Provide ad-hoc support to the Executive Director and Management in producing engaging content for various target audiences;
f. Take lead in the production of institutional publications i.e. annual reports, newsletters,
brochures, fact sheets, success stories and coordinate communication activities or events of UNNGOF;
g. Periodically review and give oversight to all external communication and where required, edit reports and proposals for clarity;
h. Build and maintain strategic relations with journalists and media houses to advance
UNNGOF work and visibility;
i. Maintain website and social media activities of UNNGOF, especially with a sense for
making it attractive for a broader public;
j. Participate in the writing and publishing of articles in various mediums; and
k. Perform any other duties that are beyond the scope of this job description in mutual discussion and agreement with your supervisor or his/her representative.
5. Qualifications:
Minimum of University Degree in Communication, Journalism or a related field;
Minimum of three years’ experience in Communications and or Knowledge Management
within the NGO Sector or any relevant sector;
Working knowledge of local and international media outlets including social media;
Exceptional analytical, oral and written communication skills; and
Enthusiastic and energetic personality; willing to work long hours including travel.
