Job Objective

To provide assistance in maintaining proper records and assets custody

Job Description:  You will be responsible for:

  1. To receive, attend to and direct clients efficiently to enhance performance of the Optical unit.
  2. Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color, and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
  3. Assist the supervisor in performing the general accounting functions of the Optical Unit
  4. Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of the optical Unit.
  5. Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.
  6. In co-ordination with the storekeeper, routinely check stock and ensure that all products on demand are stocked.
  7. Receive optical sales cash and reconcile with accounts at the end of an agreed period of time.
  8. Bank intact all funds that have been collected on a daily basis.
  9. Interact with customers to know their requirements and needs.
  10. Resolve conflicting and complex issues relating to customer services.
  11. Maintain and manage customer files and databases.
  12. Coordinate and collaborate with optical department team members to ensure quality services to customers.
  13. Assist customers in locating the required merchandise.
  14. Perform administrative duties such as submitting patient insurance information, and performing bookkeeping
  15. Perform any other official duties as assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Business Administration or  social sciences
  • At least two   years of practical experience in customer service with very good people management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge in basic accounting will be an added advantage
  • Familiarity with use of Microsoft Excel.
