Job: Device Executive

Function: Marketing

Reporting to: Head Data, Devices and Products

Job Purpose:

Responsible for growth of Data capable and Smartphone devices on the Airtel Uganda network and hence translating this to Data revenue growth.

Key Result Areas –

• Responsible for introduction and launching of new devices in the Market.

• Responsible for proper ranging of Devices with a minimum of 10 Key selling devices across all segments: ULCH, Feature 2G/EDGE, Entry level Smart, Mid-level Smart and High-End Smart.

• Ensure Availability of Key selling units in all the Airtel outlets, franchises at competitive prices and compelling offers.

• Develop competitive devices offers and ensure promotion and communication of these on a weekly, monthly and Quarterly basis through the available media and POS.

• Ensure Devices POS availability in all out lets.

• Engage suppliers and understand the future supplier strategies and roadmaps and so as to input into Sales Forecasting, Product ranging and New Devices launches.

• Negotiate extra co-adds, promo material with suppliers.

• Work with the shop managers on handset merchandising and avail experience tables to the shops with support of the Device Suppliers.

• Produce daily, weekly, monthly and periodic reports of Devices performance including: Sales reports, Stock holding report, Devices activations report and Sales forecasting.

• Develop presentations for management’s information including Devices Usage, ARPU and penetration by type, vendor, capability, OS etc.

• Analyse competitor activities and develop plans to grow revenue and market share.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or relevant field.

• At least 3 years’ experience in an FMCG/White goods industry.

• Technical knowledge of Devices models, technologies and trends.

• Excellent Planning and project management Skills.

• Attention to detail.

• Sets high personal standards and is goal oriented.

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Drive to Finish and deliver on time.
