Mbarara University of Science and Technology has received funds from Government of Uganda to recruit a driver
Qualifications
a) Uganda Certificate of Education (‘O’level) with a pass in English.
b) Valid driving permit with classes B,CM,CH, DL
c) At least three (3) years experience driving small to medium omnibuses.
d) Should have basic knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics.
e) Possession of class DM is an added advantage
f) Training in defensive driving is an added advantage.
g) Must not be above 35 years of age at the time of application.
Duties and responsibilities
a) Driving assigned vehicle(s) to defined destinations.
b) Maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the vehicle.
c) Inspecting the vehicle prior to departure for whichever destination.
d) Keeping track of the service record and report to the mechanic when due.
e) Identifying any mechanical problems and report to the mechanic for assessment
f) Responsible for the log book
g) Maintaining the safety of the passengers and their luggage
h) Loading and unloading of luggage
i) Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
