Job Summary

Increase the performance, productivity and accountability of the School management leadership and coordination structures, Teaching staff, pupils and support staff through systems strengthening leadership and governance interventions and addressing the leadership and governance gaps schools as integrated platforms for adolescent service delivery.

Overall Responsibilities
  • Support District Leadership to establish, train, orient, equip and functionalize key leadership and governance structures at Sub-district/Sub-County level, school management committees, youth and adolescent groups and peer leaders.
  •       Conduct departmental supervision and administrative functions including development of periodic work plans, budgeting, mentors technical support supervision and performance review in line with the project objectives and organization policies and Prepare ad hoc and periodic reports based on project leadership and governance interventions and ensure timely submission to line manager.
  •  Develop strategic partnerships with relevant district and sub-county stakeholders and periodically engage them during performance review meetings with updates & plans on leadership & governance interventions best practices & lessons learnt.
  •     Support the District leadership to set up, train, support and maintain district and regional based mentorship teams of leadership and governance ambassadors to periodically conduct mentorships to all supported schools, review performance and share feedback with district leadership.
  •    Support the district based mentors and head teachers to enhance school level data utilization through use of Performance Monitoring Tools, regular meetings and School Management Committees to inform data driven decision making at school level.
  • Support the district based mentors to conduct regular support supervision to supported schools to address issues of teacher attendance to duty, rewards and sanctions to motivate the teaching work force and summarize key site specific issues for DEOs/District follow up, action and linkage to health facilities for adolescent services.
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
  • Degree in Social work & Social Administration, Social Sciences, Governance, Adult & Community Education, Community Development or a related field, Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning or Monitoring and Evaluation is an Added advantage, 3 years Demonstrated work related experience in supporting Leadership skills development and Governance interventions through working with local governments and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Work related experience in building partnerships, networking, and stakeholder engagement at national and International level, Good communication & presentation skills, motivated, & ability to be a Team player are strongly desired.
