About This Job:

Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competentskilled, and experienced Head of Finance to work in Kampala.

 Job Purpose:

This position ensures, establishes and maintains an effective and efficient financial management system. This position provides finance business partnering support as well as financial information and reporting to senior management in order to support effective decision-making, planning and control in line with Group standards. The position implements and maintains sound financial management controls and ensures that these controls are adhered to by all staff.

 Key Roles and responsibilities

  • Work with the leadership team through business-decision partnering-support and financial-leadership as well as issues relating to accounting policies and procedures; financial management and control; planning and analysis;
  • Provide input into the timely and accurate reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in line with Group reporting standards and timelines;
  • Provide input to the budgeting process in line with the Group budgeting cycle;
  • Performance management for the business in Uganda;
  • Effective management of financial and business-risks through constant analysis of internal and external factors;
  • Monitoring of all expenditure and financial transactions in relation to approved budget and financial management guidelines/policy and inform management, when necessary, to take corrective action;
  • Identifying areas of profit-improvement and cost optimization;
  • Supervision of the finance department, to ensure high-quality financial-services are provided to all internal and external stakeholders;
  • Monthly review of all general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of posted transactions;
  • Liaison with the external auditors to ensure a smooth execution of the year-end audit;
  • Liaison with government bodies on direct and indirect tax matters.
  • Overall tax compliance and timely preparation and submission of direct and indirect tax computations and returns;
  • Liaison with the Company Secretary, to ensure full compliance with all Company Secretarial requirements;
  • Day-to-day monitoring of Standard Operating Procedures. Ensuring that sound internal controls are in place and that all key processes are documented and in compliance with Group Policies;
  • Managing the cash flow position (including a continuous vigilance of cash-burn) ensuring availability of funds to meet day to day requirements in line with Group Treasury policies;
  • Liaison with various banks on local banking facilities and all other banking services provided to the company;

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce or equivalent.
  • Full ACCA, CPA, CA qualification or recognized equivalent
  • At least 10 years progressive experience with demonstrated experience in a transaction driven FMCG environment
  • At least 5 years’ experience in leading and managing teams
  • Demonstrated experience with business partnering support, process improvement, business performance management and cash flow management
  • Demonstrated experience with internal and external stakeholder management at a senior level
  • Hands on involvement in strategy formulation.
  • Demonstrated experience with building a high-performance team in a cost-effective way
