Job Location: Kampala, Uganda
Job Summary: Responsible for the technical supervision of primary healthcare and community health interventions with a focus on continuous quality improvement. Participates in all stages of the project cycle and coordinates with MoH, UNHCR and other partners.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure that primary healthcare, reproductive healthcare, HIV programs and community health interventions are evidence-based and implemented in a comprehensive and cost-effective manner
- Ensure Medical Teams clinical practices adhere to MoH, WHO and additional global health standards through collaborations with related health partners
- Ensure continuous mentorship and capacity development of Medical Coordinators by providing technical oversight and collaborating to strengthen health programs through a process of continuous quality improvement
- Represent Medical Teams at interagency health coordination meetings (MOH, UNHCR, etc) to contribute technical perspective
- Participate in all stages of the project cycle by providing technical inputs to ensure maximum health impact
- Analyze and Contribute to formal and informal reports on all aspects of health programming for internal and external stakeholders
- Support the Director of Programs in overseeing health programming and contribute to the proposal development process
- Develop and lead implementation of contingency plans for potential epidemics and influx
- Ensure safeguarding of program participants and employees through promoting an environment of awareness and upholding the code of conduct provisions of Medical Teams Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse, Child & Vulnerable Adult protection, and harassment-free workplace policies.

Education, Experience, Licenses and Certification
- Bachelors Degree in Medicine & Surgery (MBChB) is required
- Registration with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council is required
- Postgraduate qualification in Public Health, Monitoring & Evaluation or Project Planning & Management is an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in public health, inclusive of 2 years in a humanitarian context is required
- Proven experience in project management and budget monitoring
- Proven experience with stakeholder engagement
- Experience with an international NGO or UN agency is required
Knowledge
