JOB DETAILS:
Uganda Tea Development Agency is an equal opportunity employer and responsible for the management of the small holder tea factories of Igara Kayonza, Buhweju and Mpungu (nearing completion).
In a bid to achieve its goals and objectives, the company wishes to strengthen its management functions at the factories by recruiting dynamic and self-motivated individuals and accordingly invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions;

Human Resource Manager

Reporting to: General Managers Igara&Buhweju
Location: Igara Growers Tea Factory, Kyamuhunga, Bushenyi

Purpose of the job:

To oversee all the administrative activities and all Human Resources related functions. Supervises and is assisted by HR Officers at the Factories.

Qualifications & experience:

Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Human Resource Management or a relevant qualification from a recognized institution and must have a post graduate diploma in HRM in the event that the first degree was not in Human Resource Management. An advanced degree in HRM or management sciences is an added advantage. Should have 5 years and above experience in HRM from reputable Organizations.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Supervise and coordinate all the administrative activities
• Planning for Human Resources (labour demand and supply forecasts)
• Custodian of all Labour related laws, statutes and agreements with a duty to explain their meaning to employees of
• Coordinate Industrial relations and Management relations with the worker’s union.
• Workman’s compensation
• Planning and budgeting for labour benefits and the department
• Organizing for Training and development of the staff, Reward Management and motivation of the staff
• Coordinate performance management in Collaboration with Heads of departments, Developing Programme plans and budgets for departmental activities
• Counseling and grievance handling
• Development, analysis and implementation Polices of the TFC in collaboration with the top management and departmental managers
• Advise the management on policy development and implementation,
• Recruitment and placement of the staff,
• Coordinate staff welfare schemes
• Coordinating the activities for the project implementation in collaboration with Heads of departments
• Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time

Skills, knowledge and competences:
• Ability to organize, plan, coordinate all the administrative issues of the company
• Must be well conversant with labour laws in Uganda and relevant international protocols
• Ability to develop talents of the workers
• Problem solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Very good analytical and independent decision making
• Counseling and guidance skills
• Ability to supervise and coordinate staff welfare including, salaries, benefits, payrolls and general welfare of the staff.
