Job Summary

The Human Resource Officer (HRO) will be responsible for providing technical support in the delivery of Human Resource and Administrative services for the smooth running of UFZA.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare Human Resource and Administration performance reports and Work plans;
  2. Handle staff welfare;
  3. Compile and update the staff list;
  4. Compute and maintain the staff leave records register;
  5. Provide advice on  Human Resource matters using established guidelines as and when required;
  6. Ensure proper fleet management;
  7. Assist the Human Resource and administration Manager in Office maintenance  including supervising air condition servicing, cleaning, painting, office fumigation, furniture and fixture repairs; and
  8. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  1. Ability to work independently and in a team;
  2. Proficiency in the relevant computer packages including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
  3. Self-motivation and ability to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environment;
  4. Must have excellent communication skills
  5. Must have excellent people relation skills

 Basic Qualifications:

  1. A bachelor’s degree in any relevant field with a bias in Human Resource Management from a recognized Institution.
  2. A post graduate qualification in Human Resource Management or Public Administration will be an added advantage.

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years relevant working experience in a reputable Institution.
