Job Purpose:

The Human Resources Officer (Generalist) will run the daily functions of the People and Culture (HR) Department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in the development and tracking of the people & culture strategic plans and ensure that they are aligned to the organization’s strategy.
  • Engage with different stakeholders in and out of the Fund to facilitate the achievement of departmental and organizational objectives
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or related field. Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources; PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CIPD is an added advantage.

Work Experience

3 years’ experience as a Human Resources Officer.
