Vacancy:  one (1) Position.

Duty station: Nakawa Campus- Kampala.

Job Purpose:

 

To monitor and ensure the safety of the Institute`s property and staff by using CCTV and other IT equipment. These include maintaining a close liaison with the Control Rooms, police personnel and CCTV partners in relation to any incidents.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor all CCTV equipment, radios, and ancillary equipment to provide pro-active and reactive monitoring of CCTV cameras to assist with the detection of crime, antisocial behaviour and to support the reduction of crime, disorder and the fear of crime.
  • Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, equipment, access points and permitting entry.
  • Maintain a close liaison with the Control Rooms, police personnel and CCTV partners in relation to any incidents.
  • Use police database and computer systems to gather, monitor, record and communicate information to appropriate police personnel.
  • Monitor, operate and communicate using all forms of security and IT equipment.
  • Supply extracts from CCTV recordings to support law enforcement and prosecutors to do their role.
  • Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, surveillance activities and interviewing witnesses for prosecution purposes where necessary.
  • Maintain the Institution’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.

 

Qualifications and experience.

  • Minimum qualification: Diploma in Security Data Science, Science in Security Studies, Computer Security and forensics or any other related field.
  • Certificate in Law enforcement, and Camera Interpretation or any other related field will be an added advantage.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to multi task when required.
  • Previous experience of using CCTV equipment and using radio communication equipment.
  • At least five (5) years of professional experience in security field, IT systems knowledge.
  • Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the Executive Director from time to time.
