Job scam Alert : Uganda Red Cross is not recruiting to fill these positions

A Google ad claiming Uganda Red Cross is seeking to fill various positions is FALSE.

The post claims there is mass recruitment by Uganda Red Cross and asks prospective employees in every district to apply via a link. But the link leads to a google form and not to the official Uganda Red Cross careers portal where all job openings are posted.

Uganda Red Cross has posted a notice warning the public to be wary of agencies or persons claiming to be recruiting on behalf of the NGO.

The organization has also used its official Twitter handle and Facebook Account  to flag the post as fake, saying job opportunities at the agency can be found at the official
Uganda Red Cross career website, https://www.redcrossug.org/join-us/jobs

A search through the Uganda Red Cross careers portal does not show the positions announced in the post.

This is the false link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc3g5S3Y2M3Nt7ZsXLDfULHzYvZdx8Wr3w8ufT7wrZUY8pkgQ/viewform?gclid=Cj0KCQiA5bz-BRD-ARIsABjT4njaxERX8ai2CjKSQr0_WxRXsLbYWm-kLeSz3KWmu7ijz8AT6wvQbDkaAteHEALw_wcB

  1. i think i fell into their traps, i saw an advert saying i have to first register as a member of red cross at a fee of 21,000 to be sent to 0774079059 in the names of Rashid Ngero

  2. Comment: I think you should publicise this vital notice on news papers/radios coz many people are sending money 2 those scammers.I even sent them 21000/= on a contact no.Registered with names “Harriet Naluwanya”

  3. Me too fell in the trap of these thieves, their advert wanted me to first pay membership fee of 21000 to 0756822839 in the names of Aisha namagoye. After payments their fake HR sent me an email of paying for uniform so that I can be able to attend training

  4. Colleagues I nearly felt a prey to those scammers. But what helped me was sharing the information with my close friends. I sent them a fàke transaction ID and they replied me with a demand mail for uniform fee. That was enough to bring me back to my senses. Always don’t be too greedy that you want to do things secretly esp. jobs issue. And remember you didn’t go to school just to pass exams but rather to learn. So be a learned person. There is a difference between educated and learned person. Don’t be just educated but LEARNED.

  5. True i as well fell in the trap of paying 21k en they send an email demanding money for uniform something which i felt fishy about but thnx fir the IQ it has really helped,.
