Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

To promote and strengthen MoMo operations management in the assigned regions. Lead all MoMo activities/plans in the assigned regions (MoMopay, Corporate Business, Agent Operations management/Digital distribution etc.) and come up with strategies to grow MoMo revenues and market share.

Contribute towards MoMo way of work by suggesting and devising better ways of execution through continuous improvement, collaboration with respective departments ( Fintech & Teleco), to achieve expected business objectives. Find expedient ways to drive business growth by delivering the MoMo business timeously; thus, contributing to MTN’s overall strategic goals, achieving profitable growth, and continuously improving efficiency.

Main Job Functions:

  • Managing, Building, and extending high-level /strong relationships with key strategic accounts
  • Generating business opportunities in the assigned region
  • Drive execution to fortress the core business which includes accelerating MoMo penetration customer base (MoMo, MoMopay, Corporate sales Digital distribution), ensure Availability – (Float) that enhance usage (30day RGS/Active base) and Retention of MoMo customer base to grow and protect our market share to deliver the regional targets.
  • Embed Route to Customer operating model (B2B and B2C) including the management of the 3rd party partners to ensure execution of agreed initiatives in line with Mission in the respective Region.
  • Ensures implementation of activities relating to front line marketing to ensure consistent growth of market share and activity.
  • Creates key partnerships to ensures delivery of Joint Business Plans that drive achievement of the Region Mission
  • Responsible for the existing infrastructure in the region, and for the smart Network rollout plan
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional team to deliver regional business goals
  • Drive a zero-harm agenda in the assigned Region
  • Embed coaching as a way of execution to deliver set performance target
  • Develop and implement sales strategy in line with Sales Strategic objectives to ensure achievement of MTN strategic objectives!
  • Develop and manage sales Budget with the mandate of maintaining customer satisfaction as well as customer retention and growth.
  • Interaction with marketing, operations, and other sales segments
  • Manage agencies and ensure SLAs are adhered to
  • Define and execute sales strategy
  • Monitor and reporting on overall performance of the MoMo portfolio, this includes MoMopay, Corporate sales, digital distribution performance, agent management

Main KPIs include:

  • 30day active MoMo subscribers
  • 30day active MoMo Merchants
  • 30day active Agents
  • Value per RGS 30 MoMo Pay
  • MoMo Revenue (Basic & Advance)
  • MoMo Pay Acquisition

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Business qualification

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years experience in sales management in a fast-paced organization
  • Strong general management & including capability development and managing change
  • A proven track record in meeting revenue targets, preferably in a variety of situations to be able to draw upon a breadth of experience when making decisions and analysing plans
  • Leadership ability with strong general management skills, including strong intellectual, strategic, and analytical ability and the ability to work cross-functionally with a collaborative style.
  • People management, with the demonstrated ability to motivate and grow high performing teams. Mentor, coach and train the team and build the required competencies for success
  • Strong experience in building business relationships and negotiation
  • communication.
