Position & Grade: Occupational Safety Health & Environment Manager

Reports to: Senior Manager Operations

Summary Role: The Occupational Safety Health & Environment Manager will be responsible for creating a safe working environment and compliance with Occupational Health, Safety and Environment regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

● Develop and implement functional strategies for ensuring that the Company’s
resources, both human and physical, operate in a safe and healthy environment;
● Review and update or develop policies and procedures to guide the safe execution of
the Company’s operations in line with statutory and professional standards;
● Build capacity and awareness of health, safety and environmental standards and
policies within the function and the Movit group;
● Keep abreast of key trends in health and safety practices to inform continuous
improvement initiatives within the company;
● Monitor and evaluate actual practice against set policies and procedures against and
make recommendations on continuous improvement or remedial action;
● Develop relevant Occupational Health, Safety and Environment reports to inform
continuous improvement and decision making;
● Lead periodic status meetings with assigned representatives to review OHSE
performance on the ground;
● Lead investigations into accidents or incidents and advise management on
appropriate action;
● Perform regular environmental audits to monitor emissions, contaminations and
damages.
● Manage Movit Group safe system of work like PTW, risk management and safety
observation program
● Manage and organize the safe disposal of waste and hazardous substances in
compliance with current waste disposal requirements;
● Allocate duties and supervise the performance on the OHSE team;
● Ensure competence within the function through training and development, coaching
and mentorship and performance management;
● Review and approve requisitions for items and services relating to occupational
health, safety and environment from responsible functions;
● Develop the function’s budget in line with approved work plan and functional
strategic objectives;
● Implement the Movit Eagle way by executing your duties in line with Quality, Speed,
Cost, Safety and People in order to establish the basis for Effective Problem Solving,
Continuous Improvement and Innovation; and
● Perform any other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time by
the Supervisor.

Working Relationship and work Environment:

● Working with the entire staff and functions in Movit Products Limited;
● Maintain good relations with key associates and company external stakeholders;
● Office based and ability to manage urgent demands;
● Ability to meet deadlines and exhibit a high degree of flexibility and versatility;
● Ability to work in a team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

● The ideal candidate for the Occupational Safety Health & Environment Manager should
hold minimum degree in Engineering preferably Industrial or Mechanical or
Environmental engineering;
● Minimum of 6 Years relevant experience in FMCG environment or busy
manufacturing setup;
● Certificate in NEBOSH;
● Demonstrated knowledge of relevant OSHE regulations;
● Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 45001 and 14001;
● Demonstrated knowledge of safe system of work in the manufacturing industry;
● Demonstrated knowledge of accident investigation and management processes;
● Demonstrated knowledge of risk management processes;
● Demonstrated knowledge of OHSE report writing;
● Demonstrated knowledge of developing and updating OSHE policies and procedures;
● Ability to work under pressure with minimum or no supervision;
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, supervision, reporting and organization skills
with a high demonstrable level of integrity and confidentiality.
