Group Information Technology: systems development, business analysis, architecture, project management, data warehousing, infrastructure, maintenance and production

Job Purpose

To assist in the coordination and management of application testing lifecycles

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Accountable for general coordination and management of the testing processes

  • Participating in preparation of test plans
  • Participating in preparation of test scenarios and test cases
  • Defect and bug Tracking
  • Participating in review meetings
  • Running automated tests
  • Meeting with business users to understand the scope of projects
  • Working with application support resources and project support teams
  • Creating test data required for testing
  • Participating in the set-up of the required test beds
  • Deployment of patches and BPDs
  • Report work progress to the Test Lead, Project Manager and other stakeholders as required
  • Take on the role of Test Lead when required
  • Attending the Change Advisory Board meetings
  • Liaising with the support team in South Africa for defect resolution
  • Providing any required assistance to enable business user to test

Preferred Qualification and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage
  • A fairly good understanding of the Bank applications
  • Two years working in a dynamic and busy IT environment
  • One year’s experience working with SQL
  • One year’s experience working with UNIX
