Job Purpose
To assist in the coordination and management of application testing lifecycles
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Accountable for general coordination and management of the testing processes
- Participating in preparation of test plans
- Participating in preparation of test scenarios and test cases
- Defect and bug Tracking
- Participating in review meetings
- Running automated tests
- Meeting with business users to understand the scope of projects
- Working with application support resources and project support teams
- Creating test data required for testing
- Participating in the set-up of the required test beds
- Deployment of patches and BPDs
- Report work progress to the Test Lead, Project Manager and other stakeholders as required
- Take on the role of Test Lead when required
- Attending the Change Advisory Board meetings
- Liaising with the support team in South Africa for defect resolution
- Providing any required assistance to enable business user to test
Preferred Qualification and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems or related field
- Postgraduate qualification would be an added advantage
- A fairly good understanding of the Bank applications
- Two years working in a dynamic and busy IT environment
- One year’s experience working with SQL
- One year’s experience working with UNIX
