Principal Dairy Inspector (2 positions)
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the successful candidate duty station shall be at the DDA Regional Office and shall be required to perform the following duties;
1) Support the implementation of government policies governing milk production, processing, marketing and consumption of milk and milk products.
2) Conduct trainings that is aimed at increasing compliance to milk processing, value addition and marketing.
3) Ensure dairy farms, businesses, milk and milk products within the region comply with the set standards and regulations.
4) Support relevant actors in the region to enhance compliance to set dairy standards and regulations.
5) Enforce dairy regulations to safe guard the public health and well-being of the consumers.
6) Plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and report on milk quality and safety interventions in the region.
7) Assemble statistical data relating to quality and safety interventions and recommend registration of dairy businesses in the region.
8) Participate in the development of strategies and interventions to strengthen dairy stakeholders’ organizations within the region.
9) Supervise and Mentor the Senior Dairy Inspectors.
10) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications and experience
1) Honours degree in Dairy Science & Technology or Honours degree in Food Science and Technology or any relevant qualifications from a recognized University.
2) Masters degree in a related field is a must.
3) At least six (6) years of working experience of which three (3) years are at senior level.
