The National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) is mandated by Section 119A of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 (as amended), among other things, to accredit Institutions and their academic and professional programmes. NCHE is further mandated to ensure minimum standards for courses of study. NCHE periodically reviews curricula submitted by institutions to ensure that it meets the set minimum standards. Reviewing curricula necessitates identifying experts from different academic disciplines. NCHE therefore invites applications from academicians qualified in the fields listed below and any other academics with expertise in specialised disciplines not included on this list to apply to be considered for periodical curricula review as Programme Assessors.

Programme assessment level and requirements
- Programme assessors for postgraduate programmes should have qualifications higher than the proposed programmes and adequate research experience and publications.
- Programme assessors for undergraduate programmes should posses a minimum of a Master’s degree in the relevant field.
- Programme assessors for non-degree programmes shall be assessed based on academic and professional qualifications/teaching experience.
- Academics with knowledge of higher education, structures, administration and systems plus knowledge and experience in curriculum design and review will have added advantage.
