TITLE: Programs Manager
REPORTS TO: Country Director – Uganda
DUTY STATION: Busia
CONTRACT TYPE: Full-time
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
Job Summary:
The Programs Manager will play a significant role in the development and sustainability of the long-term plan for Noonday Children’s homes. He or she will work closely with the Executive Director/Country Director in managing Noonday Children’s homes. He or she will be responsible for creating individual plans for each child with input from House Parents, Counselors, and teachers. This is a field position.
Key Responsibilities
Plan the overall delivery of NCH programs and their activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization.
● Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization.
● Create individual plans for each child with feedback from all that interact with the children.
● In consultation with the Country Director, develop monthly and other periodic budgets and work plans to support the programs.
● Provide support to the Country Director in recruitment, selection and performance management of program staff (including house parents, nanny, guards, and counselors).
● Ensure that all program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the Organization and relevant legislation.
● Identify and evaluate risks/problems associated with program activities at the Property and take appropriate action to control the risks/problems.
● Assist with solving problems at the property
● Communicate routinely with Country/Executive Director

Skills and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Social Works Social Administration, Child Development, Development Studies or related field.
● Three years of relevant experience working preferred, ideally with an international NGO.
● Working knowledge of NGO process
● Relevant work and event management experience required.
● Excellent written and oral communication skills essential.
● Ability to confidently communicate with diverse audiences.
● Excellent Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, and Word.
● Strong organizational skills essential and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
● Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
● Proven project management ability.
