Reproductive Health Uganda (RHU) is a Member Association of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and its core mandate is to champion, provide and enable universal access to rights based Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to vulnerable and underserved communities and to young people. The role of the engagement with RHU and its partners is to ensure that SRHR are respected, protected and fulfilled as a goal in itself, and as a fundamental means to gender equality, human well-being and sustainable development.
RHU is to implement a project, namely; “Breaking Barriers to Access to SRHR services (BBA) project” funded by Bergstrom Foundation.
The project is aimed at increasing availability, access and utilization of rights – based integrated SRH services among vulnerable populations in selected lowservice coverage communities of Tororo, Busia and Butalejja districts in Eastern Uganda. The project will partner with public health facilities in Tororo district and will work closely with key stakeholders in the other districts, to ensure successful implementation. It is a three-year project effective 1st April 2021- 31st March 2024.

Reports to– Manager, Service Delivery
Duration 3 Years
Job Purpose
To coordinate day-to-day planning, and monitoring of the implementation of the project interventions, documentation and reporting as per RHU institutional policy guidelines and the donor contractual obligations and regulations, as well as networking and collaborations with project partners.
Key Result Areas
1. Strengthen and coordinate collaborations with the district health structures, including the village health teams, public health facilities and district health offices and other relevant stakeholders in SRHR and Family Planning programming in particular. IPPF
2. Take lead in the planning and budgeting for Project interventions for purposes of increasing access to services.
3. Closely monitor the project implementation process to ensure adherence with the approved work plans, donor compliance regulations, RHU strategic frameworks and policies; as well as the national guidelines.
4. Plan and coordinate regular technical support and supervision to project teams across the different sites of implementation, to continuous quality improvement in services across the different service delivery platforms.
5. Track project performance and results at all levels of implementation.
6. Lead in the documentation of good practices, key lessons learnt and significant change stories
7. Prepare quality reports for submission to project stakeholders in accordance with the set reporting guidelines.
8. Perform any other professional duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Education and Qualifications
● Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, or Bachelor of Nursing from a reputable institution
● Postgraduate qualification in public health or related field is of added advantage
● Must be full registered with a relevant professional body and a valid practising license
Professional Experience
● Experience (3+ years) in implementing Reproductive Health/Family Planning programmes in Uganda.
● Demonstrated experience in working with public and community health systems, including good implementation of public sector health systems strengthening.
● Experience of working in hard-to-reach communities
Knowledge & Skills
● Practical knowledge and skills in offering surgical methods of Family Planning
● Knowledge and skills in continuous quality improvement in SRHR services
● Skills in coaching and mentorship, guiding, and building result IPPF – oriented teams.
● Ability to organize and multi-task, delivering quality outcomes in an efficient and timely manner.
● Demonstrated team building and leadership, administration, motivation skills, etc.
● Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), including report writing
● Practical knowledge and skills in resource mobilization
Other Personal Attributes
● Collaborative, analytical, and highly organised
● The candidate must adhere to the safeguarding reporting and monitoring requirements of this role
