Project Coordinator

The Uganda National Biogas Alliance (UNBA) is looking for a Project Coordinator starting as soon as possible. Regional business associations in the Ugandan biogas sector formed the UNBA, to catalyze the dissemination of biogas as a clean technology in Uganda through a private sector approach.  The alliance now serves as the national umbrella organization of the Ugandan biogas sector, aiming to unite and support all stakeholders and the existing regional associations in the biogas sector to create an enabling environment for biogas in Uganda.

UNBA is in a partnership project with the German Biogas Association (GBA), financed by the Chamber and Association Partnership Program (KVP) of the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The aim is to combat poverty by promoting sustainable economic development in the partner countries.

 

Job Summary:

The Project Coordinator plays a key role in implementing the project according to project specifications and acts as the interface between GBA and UNBA.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Continuous work on association strategy and business plan

·      In charge of official documentation and reporting

·      Drafting of position papers and articles that are publishes on national and international level and other public relation materials

·      Lobby work for the biogas sector including networking with different stakeholders and organizing events according to KVP project specification

·      Conducting trainings/workshops on biogas topics

·      Research and biogas and new revenue sources

·      Communication with members and feedback management

·      Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

·      The applicant must hold a master degree from a recognized University in Environmental Science, Renewable Energies, Resource Management or similar

·      2+ Years of experience in working together with German organizations

·      2+ years of experience in working with an association in Uganda

·      Knowledge of biogas and other renewable energy sectors in Uganda

·      Reporting and organizational skills, experience in reporting to BMZ is an asset

·      Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams) and ICT in general

·      Very good command of the English language

·      Basic knowledge of the German language is an asset

·      Punctuality, professionalism, reliability, and good communication skills

 

Terms of Appointment:

This is a full-time position offering a competitive contract, salary and other benefits. Duration of the contract is until 30.11.2023, with possible extension depending on funding and performance.
