Role overview
The Project Implementation Lead will manage the overall development, implementation, and successful delivery of the projects/contracts while supporting all other VSO’s work in- country in order to optimize the contribution towards alleviating poverty.
This role is contingent to funding approval. This is a short-term assignment with full employee benefits.

Knowledge/qualifications:
• Project management and/or international development or equivalent experience
Experience:
• Substantial experience in managing large and complex grants and contracts within the international development sector
• Substantial experience of creating and maintaining a high performing, globally dispersed team, managed in line with organization’s values, policies, and procedures
• Experience of leading and managing change and employee engagement
• Experience in working in and leading partnerships and consortia.
• Experience in security and risk management, and in managing duty of care to highest international standards
Skills/Abilities:
• Project donor management
• People management working in a multicultural context.
• Financial and budget management
• Evidence based decision making
• Data and system management; IT literacy (Microsoft, finance, project management software
Desired selection criteria
• Practical experience within a volunteering NGO context and managing a volunteer programme.
• Evidence of ability to provide effective support to international and national volunteers.
• Experience of working in a matrix organization with multiple reporting lines.

Step 2
After completing the VSO Values self-assessment, you can opt out or proceed with the application process. You will need to upload your CV in Word or PDF format detailing your employment and educational history, and any volunteering experience. Please note that you will need to complete the full application form in one go as you cannot save it to fill at a later time.
Step 3
When you have submitted your application, you will receive an email inviting you to complete two assessments which focus on how you process information and what your work approach is.
You will be shown instructions and example questions prior to the assessments to help you increase your familiarity with them. You will also have access to a short profile report on completion of the assessment. Your application will be reviewed by our Resourcing Team when you have completed these assessments.
