Job: Regional Business Manager

Function: Sales & Distribution

Reporting to: Sales & Distribution Director

Job Purpose:

Responsible for conceiving, developing and implementing the company’s Regional strategy to deliver on customer additions and revenue numbers, maximized revenue growth of all company products and services. Manage and support Airtel distributors and staff with in the designated region by coordinating all planned segments and interdepartmental activities in order to grow market share and enhance achievement of Airtel’ s overall business objectives for the region.

Key Result Areas –

• Participate and contribute to the bottom -up AOP process .

• Constantly review and monitor opco P&L in relation to Zone-specific contribution.

• Ensure interdepartmental synergies are realized to achieve on the Zonal P & L.

• Develop sales strategies to address and grow CMS (Customer Market Share), SOGA (Share of Gross Add) and RMS Revenue Market Share.

• Utilize market research and effective competitor analysis to develop and implement sales plan/strategies that will give Airtel an edge over completion.

• Develop strategies to drive site wise performance on gross adds, E-recharge and Airtel Money within the Region.

• Develop and implement sales strategy for Corporate, postpaid, SME and Data sales.

• Act as a consultant on planned Marketing campaigns within the region.

• Track & evaluate campaign effectiveness within the Region.

• Monitor the Retail Survey Index (Communication, Visibility & noticeability).

• Ensure Brand visibility within the Region (Visibility and deployment of Glow signage, Hoardings, Wall painting, panels, etc.).

• Input into Area -specific needs for POS materials.

• Customization messaging/communication to Regional realities.

• Approve and sign off new sites/ capacity sites within the Region.

• Tracking of Regional Network KPIs on service delivery and site productivity.

• Come up with strategies to address all Low revenue sites in the region and ensure they optimally deliver as required by the business.

• Align all Regional teams in the Airtel service and experience centers to deliver great customer experience.

• Ensure the look & feel of all Airtel shops / centers are up to the required standards in the zones and stock/ offer all products of the business.

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or equivalent training in business or sales management.

• Masters /post graduate qualification in business management is added advantage.

• 8-10 proven successful years of sales with a combination of direct and indirect (distributors) market approach in the Telecommunications Industry or FMCG environment.

• Able to operate in a performance driven organization.

• Customer focussed.

• Strong planning and organisational skills.

• Strong analytical skills.
