TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE DELIVERY OF CAPACITY BUILDING TRAININGS FOR INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT ORGANISATIONS UNDER STARTUP UGANDA
Startup Uganda is an association of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (IESOs) working together to improve our collective capacities, influence and impact, and to create a more enabling environment for innovators and businesses that in turn drive development across Uganda.
With support from United Nations Capital Development Fund, we officially launched in October 2019 and set out a mandate focused on:
- Increasing sustainability and investments to and through Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Organizations;
- Strengthening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Organizations and the sector
- Engaging Government for an enabling entrepreneurship environment
- Representing diverse IESOs across Uganda working on impact and diversity
- Developing a culture and systems for collaboration among key players in the ecosystem
- Acting as the research and knowledge management engine for the startup ecosystem
Background:
The Startup Uganda membership is continuing to grow, however with continued growth in membership there have risen a number membership needs and gaps with in the IESOs. The various skills gaps have pestered Startup Uganda to train its members in order to deliver on their mandates better. It is in this regard that Startup Uganda with support from the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) is looking for a short-term consultant to provide capacity building training sessions under identified thematic areas to Startup Uganda IESOs.

The participants are members of Startup Uganda supporting entrepreneurs at various stages of growth and in various sectors. 30 IESOs are expected to benefit from this capacity development initiative.. The workshops will be mainly facilitated in Kampala. The location will be set later on.
