Role: Social Media & Digital Content Assistant
Reports to: EIPHIV-Uganda – Project Officer
Duration of the contract: 7 months
Duty Station: Kampala
Role definition: To primarily develop, implement and execute various digital & social media activities for EIPHIV – Uganda in line with the project objectives and ensure that the program online data is secure and backed up appropriately.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Initiate, coordinate and deliver digital/social media related products to the intended target group.
2. Map out a comprehensive digital strategy and marketing plan for improving visibility of MJAP.
3. Initiate and manage Digital Marketing campaigns.
4. Provide support in creating and editing social media content such as videos, photo content etc; and in the management of MJAP website
5. Provide support on all social media initiatives/events including generating adequate social elements and adherence to standards.
6. Co-ordinate and maintain up-to-date and engaging digital online platforms that create impact for MJAP.
7. Undertake social/digital data analytics to identify information gaps, threats and opportunities to improve the Communication Strategy for MJAP.
8. Regularly monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy to identify opportunities for MJAP.
9. Advocate for MJAP in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
10. Develop procedure and remedial actions for digital damage control and report notable threats to Management
11. Regularly monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media campaigns and share reports with Management.
12. Set up and optimize MJAP online pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the social content
Minimum qualifications and experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Mass Communications, Media or Public Relations
At least 2 years’ proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialization.
Adequate knowledge of E-learning, with a certificate in web design, web development, CRO and SEO is desirable.
Knowledge of online marketing and good understanding of major marketing channels
Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge.
Key personal competencies
Previous experience sourcing and managing content development, publishing and online reputation management.
Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
Excellent writing and language skills
Possesses functional knowledge and/or personal experience with WordPress
Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
High degree of professionalism to ensure that MJAP image is protected.
