Job: STAFF HEALTH FOCAL POINT

MAIN PURPOSE
Support the Medical Coordinator through delegated tasks and responsibilities, including administrative tasks related to national and International staff health.

Accountabilities:
- Apply the national staff employee health and social policy.
- Responsible for implementing, linking/communicating, monitoring/following up national staff health policy and international staff health needs
- In collaboration with the HR team participate in updating the national staff health and social policy
- Ensure all new staff are oriented about the health policy
- Provide First Aid and refer to health facility medical emergencies occurring within the Kampala Office
- Organize staff health promotion and education events
- Organize staff vaccination campaigns in the mission against Hepatitis, tetanus, Covid 19 and ensure that the vaccination database is updated
- In consultation with Medco, Update staff leaves forms upon verification of the Doctors’ notes
- Perform annual contact updates of the medical specialists/ hospitals/clinics
- Support the medical coordinator in briefing international staff arrivals about health risks, prevention, and access to health facilities
- Support international staff to make appointments
- Brief all staff coming to Uganda via Kampala for Ebola assignment, and ensure that they follow the Sops.
- Follow individual staff coming from Ebola assignments and staying in Kampala
- Ensure the application of Ebola preventive measures in the MSF offices
- Update IPC measures for other diseases such as Covid 19
- Work with the Pharmacy Coordinator to ensure that the First Aid kits in MSF cars, Guest Houses, and the medical emergency boxes are up to date
- Collect information from Insurance health providers, analyze/ prepare and share/present a quarterly staff health utilization report and recommend action points as per the report analysis
Education Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine & Surgery. Must be registered with the UMDC
Experience
- Essential previous experience of at least 2 years in similar or relevant positions.
- Desirable previous experience in MSF or other NGOs in developing countries.
Languages
- Knowledge Mission language (English) and local language essential
- Essential computer literacy (word, excel, and internet)
Desirable knowledge of basic mechanics
