The Uganda Institute of Banking & Financial Services is the body responsible for the provision of Professional Training within the Financial Services Sector. It is a body corporate, limited by guarantee. It offers both professional and skills courses for both practicing and prospective bankers and staff of financial institutions in general.

The Institute hereby invites applications from interested individuals for the position of   Training and Partnership Manager                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

The position:

The Training and Partnerships Manager is a member of the Institute’s Senior Management Team entrusted with overall responsibility for the Institute’s Training Function including oversight over all aspects of training and training-related partnerships.  The Training and Partnerships Manager will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Training Operations

  • Conducting regular Training Needs Assessment for the Financial Services Industry and developing relevant and competitive training programs
  • Overseeing the initiation, development, and review of all courses and training activities
  • Preparing and reviewing the Institute’s Training Budgets and Plan (annually and otherwise)
  • Providing regular and timely active reports on the training function to management and/or Board Committee
  • Overseeing the recruitment and deployment of trainers and facilitators and ensuring the existence of an adequate and high-quality pool of trainers and facilitators
  • Ensuring that training activities are profitable, deliver an optimal return on investment, and meet (or exceed) set targets

Marketing and Business Development

  • Actively marketing the Institute’s programs to the Financial Services
  • Work closely with the Training Managers/ Human Resource Managers of Member Financial Institutions in the development of the relevant training
  • Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagements
  • Overseeing the Institute’s training-related partnerships from inception up to the post-implementation phase
  • Work closely with Donor Agencies, Uganda Bankers Association, and other apex Institutional Financial Services Industry Players in the joint development of training programs as well as generation of proposals to access funding
  • Preparing and reviewing the Institute’s Partnerships Budgets and Plans

Management

  • Managing a team of subordinates in your jurisdiction with a view to sustaining a high-performance team
  • Ensuring consistency with the Institute’s Strategic Plan and Performance Contract

Key competences:

  • Proficiency with the usage of ICT.
  • Ability to build strong networks with the Institute’s Members/stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Business Development and Marketing

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master’ Degree in Business Administration, Banking and Finance or  Economics
  • Holders of banking qualifications at the level of Associate or Fellow will be preferred
  • Seven years relevant working experience, at least two of which should be at a senior level in Financial Services or training services organization
  • Good knowledge of the Financial Services Industry as well as previous training experience in a higher institution of learning will be an added advantage
  • High integrity, agile and focussed team leader
  • Age: Not less than 30 years
